Our visit to the Polar Bear Habitat was an extra add on for our organised bus tour. It was one of the best things we did on our trip. It is not a zoo but has been set up with everything to benefit the bears and care for them - whether they have been left as cubs without a mother or have had to be moved from other towns or from zoos. The habitat provided for the bears is extensive and they seem to be totally at home. It was a privilege to be so close to them and watch their behaviour. Wildlife experts are on hand to provide information. There is also a snowmobile museum and historical building museum on the site - both of which I enjoyed thoroughly.
